Records, emotions and goosebumps – the 10th adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival
INNSBRUCK, MAY 2025 – The second largest trail event in Europe after the UTMB: 7,200 runners, 50,000 visitors, and a whole weekend full of trail running magic
What a weekend! The adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary – and surpassed all expectations: with 7,200 participants from 73 nations, not only was a new record set, but also a powerful statement for the international trail running community. This firmly places the Innsbruck Alpine among the top events in Europe. With its alpine-urban character, Innsbruck transformed into the vibrant center of the trail running community for four days.
10 YEARS – 14 RACES – COUNTLESS EMOTIONS
From the spectacular midnight start to the winners’ party: the anniversary edition of the IATF was packed with highlights. Fourteen races, challenging alpine routes, urban flair, and the Austrian (National) Championships in mountain and trail running delivered peak performances and unforgettable moments.
The perfect blend of alpine challenge and city atmosphere made the event the ultimate trail adventure. And there was something for everyone – from tough 5 KM races to the ultra distance, ideal for beginners and experienced trail runners.
NOT JUST RUNNING – CELEBRATING, CHEERING, EXPERIENCING
With over 50,000 visitors, Innsbruck turned into a party mile for trail running fans. The vibe? Electric. Thanks to the Cheering Bus service, spectators could follow the race live along the course and cheer on their runners with full energy.
The expo, side events, food trucks, music, and an inspiring community atmosphere turned the IATF into a true outdoor festival – and the perfect kick-off to the trail running season.
LAUFWERKSTATT CEO ALEXANDER PITTL ENTHUSIASTIC
“What we experienced this weekend was far more than a sporting event – it was a true festival of emotion, passion, and togetherness. The energy on the trails, the smiles at the finish line, and the excitement felt throughout the city impressively showed how much trail running moves people – in every sense of the word,” said Alexander Pittl, CEO of organizer Laufwerkstatt. “To celebrate a new participation record on our 10th anniversary and to establish the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival as Europe’s second-largest trail event – right behind the UTMB – is another major milestone.
Our biggest thanks go to the entire trail running community: the runners, the volunteers on and off the course, the tireless crews, and of course the fans and supporters who created an unforgettable atmosphere.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to our sponsors and partners – for their trust, support, and enthusiasm for what we’re building together here.
Thanks as well to the local supporters for their commitment. And last but not least: thank you to our team at Laufwerkstatt – for months of passion, precision, and organization at the highest level.”
And now? Take a breath, reflect, and keep going – we look forward to welcoming you to the adidas TERREX Innsbruck Alpine Trailrun Festival 2026 from April 29 to May 2!
